Slough come out of this game with their heads held high. West London clearly belong a few leagues higher and there is little doubt that is where they will end up. However Slough with it's mix of a few veterans and many youngsters defended solidly and held West London at bay for some 20 minutes. Unfortunately a loss of concentration on the lef defensive flank allowed West London through a couple of times and they took full advantage netting 2 quick goals. 2-0 down at half time, Sloughs youngsters could have capitulated but they came out fighting in the second half and played the better hockey, Dev Mavar and Ajit Panesar were both unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Defensively a total lockout in the second half and Slough can walk away with great pride.
